Lifetimes

In all my lifetimes on this earth

I have touched all the edges of grief

I have carried the burdens of shame

I have marked the abuses of power

And choked down a thousand tears of regret

In all these lifetimes of learning

I have found great strength amidst adversity

I have received countless gifts of kindness within community

I have witnessed unmatched beauty in nature’s cycles

And profound healing in a million acts of unconditional love
